Chelsea Football Club can confirm  have completed the signing of Claudio Pizarro.

The Peruvian international, formerly at Bayern Munich, completed his medical and agreed personal terms today.

Following the agreement, the striker spoke to Chelsea TV and said:

'I think it's very important for me to win some titles and I have the chance here to win them. The most important thing is the Champions League which I was looking to win with Bayern, but we didn't have the chance.

'I think now we have a good team, a good trainer and the chance to win it.

'I had some interesting offers, but the most important thing was that I talked to the coach, I talked to the people here, and they were very interested. We have many chances to win titles here and that's what I want.

'I get used very fast to play with different kinds of players, I did it at Bayern and I don't think it will be a problem now.'

Asked about his appetite for leading the forward line alone, he said:

'Yes also, to be a football player you have to be ready for all of that and I am. I'm a metre 86, in Germany it's a very tough League, and in England as well.'

The 28-year-old moved from South America to play in Germany in 1999, first at Werder Bremen for two seasons where he scored 28 goals in 76 appearances. “
