A Draw with Chelsea in Baku

Our team played its next UEFA Champions League group stage match, hosting its second home fixture of the round.

In Matchday 4, “Qarabağ” faced the English club Chelsea. The game began with open, attacking football from both sides. The visitors took the lead early on, but our players responded strongly, maintaining high intensity and showing resilience. Their persistence paid off — Leandro Andrade equalized with a precise finish, and ten minutes later, Marko Janković’s effort gave us the lead.

Chelsea made several changes after the break and managed to level the score in the 53rd minute. Despite this, “Qarabağ” continued to fight bravely, creating several dangerous opportunities and holding their ground against the star-studded opponent.

The remaining minutes saw end-to-end football, but neither side was able to find a winner.

With this 2–2 draw, “Qarabağ” increased its tally to 7 points in the group.

It should be noted that in Matchday 5, our next opponent will be Napoli. The away match against the Italian side in Naples is scheduled for November 25.
