Qarabağ – Eintracht Frankfurt – 3:2
Kamilo Duran (4’, 80’), Bahlul Mustafazade (90+4’) – Can Uzun (10’), Fares Chaïbi (78’, pen.)
Our team has played its next match in the UEFA Champions League. Qarabağ took to the pitch for its final home game of the league phase.
In Matchday 7, our opponents were the German club Eintracht Frankfurt. The match began with territorial dominance by our team. From the opening minutes, our players pushed forward and were rewarded in the 4th minute. A well-worked passing move ended with Kamilo Duran finding the net on his second attempt after a cross from the left flank by Elvin Jafarguliyev.
However, in the 10th minute, a momentary lapse in defence allowed the visitors to equalise. Despite this, Qarabağ maintained control until the end. In the first half, our players dictated the tempo, circulating the ball in Eintracht’s half and searching for gaps in the opposition defence. Nevertheless, the score remained unchanged until the break.
The second half saw end-to-end action, with both sides opting for a more open approach in pursuit of victory. The visitors took the lead in the 78th minute through a penalty. Yet, just two minutes later, our team restored parity once again. The Jafarguliyev–Duran partnership delivered, as Kamilo Duran completed his brace.
Throwing everything forward, our players netted the winning goal in stoppage time (90+4’). Bahlul Mustafazade finished accurately from a cross to seal the victory.
As a result, Qarabağ secured a 3–2 win, increasing its points tally to 10.
It should be noted that in the final Matchday 8, our opponents will be Liverpool. The away fixture against the English club at Anfield Road will take place on January 28.
