A spectacular comeback at the central arena!

Our team played its next match against “Sabah” in the XXII round of the Misli Premier League.

The round’s closing match took place at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium. Our team started the game with the following lineup: 99. Mateusz Kochalski, 44. Elvin Jafarquliyev, 10. Abdullah Zubir (c), 81. Kevin Medina, 8. Marko Jankovic, 2. Mateus Silva, 9. Joni Montiel, 18. Dani Bolt, 21. Aleksey Kashuk, 35. Pedro Bicalho, 17. Camilo Duran.

The leaders’ clash began with attacks from both sides. Each team tried to break through the opponent’s defense with fast-paced moves. The visitors opened the scoring early, but our team gradually took control in search of the equalizer. However, the score remained unchanged until halftime.

In the second half, our team dominated possession. Despite this, the numerically strong opponent scored two more goals from counterattacks within seven minutes. Nevertheless, our resilient players increased the pressure on the opponent’s goal. As a result, they quickly reduced the deficit: first Pedro Bicalho, then Kevin Medina five minutes later. Continuing their momentum, our team completed a spectacular comeback in the 84th minute with a header from Musa Gurbanli.

The match ended in a 3:3 draw, leaving our team in second place with 46 points.

It should be noted that Qarabag’s next Misli Premier League match will be on March 8, when our team hosts “Araz-Nakhchivan” at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium.
