Sabah 1–1 Qarabağ
Boyan Letić, 73' – Redon Xhixha, 42' (pen.)
Qarabağ played another match today, facing Sabah in an away game as part of Matchday 32 of the Misli Premier League.
Our head coach, Gurban Gurbanov, fielded the following starting lineup: 97. Fabian Buntić, 55. Badavi Huseynov (c), 30. Abbas Huseynov, 24. Aleksey Isaev, 22. Musa Gurbanli, 29. Marko Vešović, 81. Kevin Medina, 66. Patrick Andrade, 19. Redon Xhixha, 21. Aleksey Kashuk, 11. Emmanuel Addai.
The match held at Bank Respublika Arena started with a fast pace from our team. Dominating possession, our players worked to break through the opponent's defense. Their efforts paid off in the 42nd minute when a penalty was awarded after a foul on Musa Gurbanli, and Redon Xhixha converted it into a goal.
The second half also saw our team maintain the upper hand. However, the opponent tried to create dangerous moments through quick counterattacks. Sabah managed to score the equalizer during one of these attempts. Despite efforts from both sides in the remaining minutes, no further goals were scored.
Thus, Qarabağ secured a 1–1 draw away from home and officially clinched the league title with four rounds to spare. Our team increased its points tally to 77, making it mathematically impossible for rivals to catch up.
Gurban Gurbanov's men will play their next league match on May 4 at home against Sumgayit.
