"I Would Call This One of Our Most Successful Years"

Following the 18th-round match of the Misli Premier League between "Qarabağ" and "Araz-Nakhchivan" (2:0), our head coach Gurban Gurbanov held a press conference. The experienced coach shared his thoughts on the match:

“I congratulate my players. Today we played against a very strong team. Despite the fact that our opponent lost in the last two rounds, they have maintained their high level of performance throughout the season. I thank my players for their efforts since January. I am also grateful to our fans who have supported us in every game. It was a good ending. This victory was very important for the players to take a break in good spirits. It’s clear that we’ll need to work harder and be more focused next year. Overall, I am satisfied with my team’s performance. I wish 2025 to be a prosperous year for our nation, fulfilling everyone’s dreams and bringing benefits to our country.”

The head coach also described 2024 as a successful year for his team: “I would call this one of our most successful years. We advanced to the Round of 16 in European competitions. It was a great football year for our country. Our people experienced the atmosphere of big football. There were thrilling victories and defeats. For instance, we had good chances to defeat Germany’s Bayer in both matches. We became champions, won the national cup, and played in the Champions League playoffs. We achieved the minimum goals set for the season.”
