"It’s Not Easy to Maintain This Position Year After Year"

After the Misli Premier League’s rescheduled third-round match between “Shamakhi” and “Qarabağ” (0:1), our team’s head coach Qurban Qurbanov held a press conference. The experienced coach shared his thoughts on the match:

“I congratulate my players. The game was quite tense. We scored the winning goal in the final seconds. The match was such that we could have lost as well. The opponent defended smartly and launched dangerous counterattacks. Playing in Shamakhi is never easy. My players worked hard. I also thank the fans who supported us in such weather conditions.”

The head coach also reflected on the season so far: “Except for a few games, all of our matches have been intense. It’s satisfying to maintain the top spot while working through a tight schedule. Toward the end of the year, I’ve been concerned about the players’ health. Some of our players are currently injured, and it’s unclear when they’ll return. After European competition matches, the players felt even more pressure. Despite this, we managed to retain our lead in the championship. It’s not easy to hold onto this position year after year. Opponents are getting to know us better and don’t allow us to play the way we want.”
