FC Karabakh secured their second Azerbaijan Cup and a place in Europe next season after beating FC Karvan Evlakh 2-1 in the final. Dismal start Karabakh made a dismal start, going a goal down in the first minute as Roman Akhalkatsi scored for Karvan but they went into the interval on level terms as Vasif Hagverdiyev found the target. They stepped up a gear in the second half and Samir Musayev missed two great chances to score from Mushvig Huseynov s passes before the same pair got it right third time for the winner. Agdam pride "We have wanted this victory for so long," said Karabakh president Takher Gozal. "We should give credit to the coaches, the players and everyone who supported our team. It is very important, that Karabakh return to the European scene to represent Agdam in UEFA competitions." Karabakh will start their UEFA Cup campaign in the first qualifying round next season.
