“Our players showed character”

After the Misli Premier League XXII round match “Qarabag” – “Sabah” (3:3), our head coach Gurban Gurbanov held a press conference and shared his thoughts on the game:

“It was a very interesting match. The stadium atmosphere was fantastic. I want to thank the fans of both teams. It had been a long time since we saw such an atmosphere in the national championship. The match went the way the supporters wanted to see. I also thank the players of both teams for delivering such a dynamic and fast-paced game.

The beautiful side of football is that sometimes you face situations you don’t expect. I am pleased with my players; they showed great character. What concerns me is our players’ recovery. We have been playing on a very tight schedule. After the Champions League match against Newcastle, we had this kind of game. Three days later comes the cup match, and then another league game.”
