“Qarabağ” faced Newcastle

Qarabağ – Newcastle United – 1:6

Our team played its next match in the UEFA Champions League. Qarabağ took part in the first leg of the play-off stage.

Our players hosted Newcastle United at the Tofiq Bəhramov Republican Stadium.

The first half was dominated by the visitors. By halftime, the English side had scored five unanswered goals in Baku.

In the second half, our team increased their activity and reduced the deficit with a goal from Elvin Cəfərquliyev. During a second half filled with counterattacks, the visitors scored another goal. As a result, the English club secured a 6:1 victory.

It should be noted that the return leg between these teams will take place on February 24 at St James Park.
