Qarabağ Presents the Region’s First Sustainability Report

Our club has officially unveiled the region’s first Sustainability Report, marking another significant milestone in its commitment not only to sporting excellence but also to social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and modern governance.

This pioneering initiative is the first of its kind in Azerbaijan and the wider region. Qarabağ is also among the leading European football clubs to publish a Sustainability Report, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable development and international best practices.

The report provides a comprehensive overview of the club’s activities in the following key areas:

  • Environmental sustainability and efficient resource management

  • Social responsibility projects, inclusive development initiatives, and community engagement

  • Corporate governance and transparency

It also outlines the club’s long-term development strategy, its progress towards aligning with international standards, and its sustainability objectives for the future.

The report was prepared with the support of Deloitte, one of the world's leading audit and consulting firms. Renowned for its expertise in sustainability reporting, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) standards, and corporate transparency, Deloitte provided methodological support in structuring the report in accordance with international standards, ensuring accurate data measurement and presentation, and integrating globally recognised reporting principles. This partnership further strengthens the report's credibility and its potential for international recognition.

It should also be noted that Qarabağ Football Club is an official signatory of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Sports for Climate Action Framework. By joining this initiative, the club has also endorsed the UN Race to Zero campaign, reaffirming its commitment to contributing to global climate goals.

Club President Tahir Gözəl stated that the Sustainability Report reflects not only the club’s achievements but also the values it has built over the years and its responsibility towards future generations:

“This report is a tangible reflection of the values we have built over the years, our sense of responsibility, and our vision for the future. It highlights not only what we have achieved, but also the principles we believe in and the responsibility we carry towards future generations.

This initiative is a first for our club, for Azerbaijan, and for the wider region. Every aspect of the report is based on real actions and measurable results. We believe this approach will serve as a benchmark for other clubs across the region and help drive the next stage of sustainable development.

This report also forms part of the commitments we undertook within the framework of COP29. Naturally, this is our first Sustainability Report, and we are only beginning this journey. We are confident that future reports will include even more comprehensive, development-oriented and comparable results.”
