Qurban Qurbanov: “The atmosphere was fantastic”

After the “Qarabağ” – “Sabah” match (2:2) in the 1/2 finals of the Bizon Azerbaijan Cup, our team’s head coach, Qurban Qurbanov, held a press conference and shared his thoughts on the game:

“I want to thank the fans of both teams. The atmosphere was fantastic. They gave the players a lot of motivation. I think the players of both teams delivered a performance worthy of the fans. I wish both teams success. It was an exciting, fast-paced, dynamic match. It was a true cup game. We have a return match that we need to prepare for. Our time is limited. In two days, we have our match against 'Karvan-Yevlax.' We need to focus on preparing for that game. True, the players are a bit tired. They must recover over the next two days to be fully ready.”

The head coach also commented on the competition in both the championship and the cup, as well as the opponent:

“We have always been ambitious. In both tournaments, we have aimed for the best possible results. We will not give up on our determination or activity. We faced a very strong team—a well-organized squad that never gave up and fought until the very end. We are a good team, but 'Sabah' is also a very good team. Playing against such an opponent is enjoyable for us as well. The last two matches against 'Sabah' also provide extra motivation for the players. To achieve better results, we must be even better.”
