Following Qarabağ's 3–0 victory over Vestri (Iceland) in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League first qualifying round, head coach Qurban Qurbanov spoke at the post-match press conference:

"First of all, I would like to thank our supporters for filling the stadium. The atmosphere felt like a UEFA Champions League match. After the first game, we realised how responsible we needed to be. Our fans have high expectations, and that gave us additional motivation as well as a greater sense of responsibility.

I congratulate my players. The victory was important. The players are at different stages of their physical preparation, and some fatigue became noticeable midway through the second half. After making a few substitutions, our tempo increased, and in the end we secured a 3–0 victory.

Our opponents defended very well, and their players covered for each other effectively. They had analysed us thoroughly. The result also showed that we must approach the second leg with even greater responsibility. A demanding match like this will benefit us.

I would also like to congratulate our fellow Azerbaijani clubs, Sabah and Zirə, on their victories. These are excellent results. Every win contributes to improving our UEFA coefficient, which is extremely important for our country's ranking."
