Record set in the Qarabağ – Sabah match

Our team’s home match against “Sabah” in the first leg of the 1/2 finals of the Bizon Azerbaijan Cup (2:2) was marked by a record attendance. The game at the Tofiq Bəhramov Republican Stadium was watched by 21,000 spectators.

This figure is a record not only for the 2025/26 season but for the last 10 seasons in all tournaments held under the PFL’s banner. The last time a higher attendance was recorded was in the 2015/16 season during the cup final. The match between “Qarabağ” and “Neftçi” (1:0) drew 23,000 spectators.

The attendance at the “Qarabağ” – “Sabah” match ranks fifth overall for PFL competitions held since 2008. All four matches with higher attendance were cup finals. It is also the highest attendance ever for a match hosted by a team (finals are held at a neutral venue) under the PFL. The previous record was set on February 14, 2016, at Ganja City Stadium, when 20,400 spectators watched the “Kəpəz” – “Qarabağ” match (1:2).

The last time a single team drew more spectators to a home game was in the 2006/07 season, when 25,000 fans attended the “Neftçi” – “Xəzər Lənkəran” match. Today’s match set a record for the next 19 seasons.

It should be noted that before this game, the season attendance record belonged to a league match between the same teams at the same stadium. In the XXII round of the Premier League on March 1 (3:3), 10,361 spectators were registered.
