“The victory was very important”

After the Bizon Azerbaijan Cup quarter-final match “Qarabag” – “Shamakhi” (3:1), our head coach Gurban Gurbanov held a press conference and shared his thoughts on the game:

“I congratulate my players. We achieved an important result. In the second half, we almost completely controlled the game. The victory was very important. The players tried to play correctly. Fatigue was noticeable, but in the coming days they will recover and reach optimal form. I also thank our fans. The supporters who came with Shamakhi also cheered for their team.”

The coach added that the team is ready for a busy schedule toward the end of the season:
“Even if we play a tight schedule, we will handle it. Preparing the players for any match is our job. Playing throughout the season on a dense schedule is not easy. There’s no time to rest between matches. Each game comes with its own demands, and the intensity increases. Situations like this are normal in football.”

It should be noted that our team secured a 4:3 aggregate victory over two legs and qualified for the semi-finals.
