“This victory belonged to the fans"

Following the 3–2 victory in the Matchday 7 fixture of the UEFA Champions League league phase between Qarabağ and Eintracht Frankfurt (Germany), our head coach Gurban Gurbanov shared his thoughts at the post-match press conference, assessing the game:

“First of all, I would like to congratulate our fans. This victory belonged to them. They supported us in every match. Perhaps some of our fans wanted this win even more than we did. Their prayers brought us this great triumph.

I congratulate my players as well. They worked extremely hard. To win, it takes not only desire and aggression, but also discipline — and today they showed disciplined football. We saw belief in victory and commitment until the final whistle.

We are very happy on behalf of our players, our fans, and Azerbaijani football as a whole.”

The head coach also commented on the upcoming away match against Liverpool in the final round:

“We will go to Liverpool with confidence. It is not easy for any team to play at that stadium. Liverpool has some of the most passionate fans in England.

In that match, I will ask my players to play without fear. Playing at a stadium like Anfield Road should be a great pleasure for my footballers.

President Ilham Aliyev has also congratulated us. I thank him sincerely. In return, I would like to congratulate the President and our people.”
