Three-goal game in Shamakhi

Our team played its next match, starting the Azerbaijan Cup quarter-finals.

The first leg against Shamakhi took place at Shamakhi City Stadium, with Qarabag lining up as follows: 97. Fabian Buntić, 55. Badavi Huseynov (c), 77. Ramil Sheydayev, 27. Toral Bayramov, 22. Musa Gurbanly, 32. Hikmet Jabrailzade, 20. Kadi Borges, 3. Sami Mmae, 18. Dani Bolt, 21. Aleksey Kashchuk, 11. Emmanuel Addai.

The match started with attacking play from both sides. From the opening minutes, both teams preferred open football. Both goalkeepers made important saves to keep their teams in the game. Nevertheless, the home side managed to open the scoring in the middle of the first half and doubled the lead before halftime.

In the second half, Qarabag had territorial control. Our players sought gaps in the opponent’s defense with quick passing combinations. This pressure paid off in the 79th minute, when Toral Bayramov delivered a cross from the left, and Musa Gurbanly finished with a precise strike. No further goals were scored, and the match ended with a 2–1 victory for Shamakhi.

It should be noted that the return leg against this opponent will take place on March 3.
