Qarabağ played its first match after the winter break. In the 19th round of the Misli Premier League, our team hosted Shamakhi. The first match of 2025 was held at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium.

Head coach Qurban Qurbanov fielded the following starting lineup for this match: 1. Shahrudin Mahammadaliyev (c), 30. Abbas Huseynov, 27. Toral Bayramov, 90. Nəriman Akhundzada, 81. Kevin Medina, 8. Marko Yankovic, 2. Mateus Silva, 6. Julio Romao, 15. Leandro Andrade, 21. Aleksey Kashuk, 11. Emmanuel Addai.

Our players started the match at a fast pace and managed to score an early goal. In the 4th minute, Nəriman Akhundzada finished off a swift counterattack. Ten minutes later, the visitors equalized on their first dangerous attack. Regaining control of the game, our team's consecutive attacks paid off in the 29th minute. After a cross from the left flank, Aleksey Kashuk scored a powerful header. However, Shamakhi once again leveled the score just before halftime.

The second half began with mutual attacks. Gradually taking control of the game, our team finally scored the winning goal in the 72nd minute. As a result, Qarabağ secured a 3–2 victory in the home game. With this win, our team remains at the top of the league standings, increasing its points tally to 50.

It should be noted that Qarabağ will play its next match at home against Turan Tovuz on January 26.
