"We want to achieve a successful result"

Before the UEFA Europa League League Stage Round 8 match between Olympiacos (Greece) and Qarabağ, our team’s head coach Qurban Qurbanov and midfielder Julio Romao held a press conference. The experienced coach shared his thoughts on tomorrow’s match:

"This is our last game in the league stage. We will face a very strong opponent. I have no doubt that Olympiacos is aiming to win the Europa League this season as well. Last season, they won the Conference League. We will be competing against a club with big ambitions. In our final match, we want to put on a strong performance and achieve a successful result."

The head coach also spoke about why he has been leading the team since 2008: "It is not easy to work with the same team for such a long time. Football is a collective game, and changes are necessary throughout the process. Over the years, new players have joined the team, and we have worked to maintain our success. I have been fortunate to work with great management. We have excellent leadership and administrators who have always supported me in building a competitive team. They have made every effort to ensure we achieve successful results. There have been cases in football where a coach has worked with the same team for a long time, and we have tried to maintain that consistency."

Midfielder Julio Romao also expressed his desire to return from the away match with a positive result: "Tomorrow, certain details will determine the outcome of the game. In terms of the tournament standings, Olympiacos is in a better position. They are fighting for qualification to the next stage. Despite our lower ranking, we will strive to finish the league stage in a higher position by securing a positive result tomorrow. Every match is important for us. We step onto the field with the aim of achieving a positive outcome in every game. Tomorrow, we will do everything we can to finish the tournament with a victory."

It should be noted that the match will take place in Piraeus tomorrow and will kick off at 00:00 Baku time.
