“We will try to show ourselves in a positive light”

Ahead of the UEFA Champions League play-off match between Newcastle United and Qarabağ, our head coach Qurban Qurbanov and midfielder Joni Montiel held a press conference. The experienced coach shared his thoughts on tomorrow’s match:

“We have analyzed the first game. In the return leg, we need to be more focused and responsible. Overall, our preparation is not bad. We will try to show ourselves in a positive light during the away game. This is the kind of tournament where, as a team progresses, the level of opponents increases.”

Midfielder Joni Montiel also spoke about giving their best for a positive result:

“Everyone knows the level of the Champions League. We have to forget the first match and focus on the return leg. If we fight as we did in the first half of the Baku game, we can achieve a good result.”
